CITB Health & Safety Awareness (Labourers)
Course Introduction
The CITB Health and Safety Awareness course is part 1 of a 2-part process to gain your green labourers CSCS Card. The course is delivered by means of case studies, class discussion, and interactive group work and tutor presentation. Candidates will be assessed continuously and on conclusion of the course they will have to complete a multiple-choice test.
Course Pre-Requisites All Candidates must be proficient in English in order to complete this qualification. ESW Level 1 in Communication is recommended.
Course Topics Individual’s H&S Responsibilities Control of Common Construction Hazards Practical Standards of Site Safety Relevant Legislation Working at Height Manual Handling Fire Prevention Safe Use of Equipment Occupational Health The CSCS Processes & Routes Course Benefits Anybody that requires site access, as a labourer, must complete this course, in addition to the on-screen CITB Health, Safety and Environment Labourer Test before applying for the green labourer’s card. Holding this card tables you access to work on all major construction sites as a labourer.
Please ensure that you bring with you suitable photographic identification; current original signed passport or a current original signed UK driving licence. If you do not possess either of the above please contact us immediately for a list of authorised alternative forms of identification.
We cannot accept students on any CITB course without valid identification.
The course in question will be conducted in the English language and as such all delegates must have a thorough understanding and conversational command of the language. No CITB courses are currently offered in any other medium except English.
Should you or any of your delegates feel that you may struggle with some of the written work that is required to complete the course, please make your concerns known to the trainer at the earliest opportunity. Please be aware that we will treat anything said with the utmost confidence and are always discreet. We have a great deal of experience in accommodating clients that have a wide range of literacy problems.
